Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction

An 8 week adventure in mindful practice, sharing in group dialogue, buildling compassion and moving with presence.
Week 1 – Introduction to Mindfulness – We begin with the foundations of awareness, learning how to bring attention to the breath and body. This week sets the tone for the course by cultivating presence in simple, everyday moments.
Week 2 – Perception and Creative Responding – Explore how perception shapes your experience of stress. Through mindful awareness practices, you will learn to respond with greater clarity rather than reacting automatically.
Week 3 – Mindfulness of the Body in Movement – Gentle yoga and mindful movement are introduced to deepen body awareness. This helps integrate mindfulness into daily life by engaging both mind and body together.
Week 4 – Learning to Recognise Stress – Understand the physiology of stress and how it affects your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. You’ll develop skills to notice stress as it arises and to meet it with awareness.
Week 5 – Responding to Stress with Awareness – This week focuses on applying mindfulness directly to challenging situations. Practices support pausing, observing, and choosing responses that reduce reactivity and increase resilience.
Week 6 – Communication and Interpersonal Mindfulness – Bring mindfulness into your relationships and conversations. Through exercises in mindful speaking and listening, you’ll discover ways to foster presence and compassion with others.
Week 7 – Integrating Mindfulness into Daily Life – Attention turns toward sustaining practice in real-world contexts. You’ll explore strategies for weaving mindfulness into work, home, and everyday routines with consistency.
Week 8 – Maintaining and Deepening Practice – We conclude with a reflection on your journey, identifying resources for ongoing support. This final week emphasises continuity, self-compassion, and living mindfully beyond the course.
